2012 marks the 30th anniversary of ORBIS' sight saving journey. To further increase awareness of needlessly blind peoples' plight, ORBIS Hong Kong has now pioneered a bold new initiative called "Break the Wall".
Using "Breaking the Dark Wall, Creating a Brighter History" as its slogan, the campaign will see long-time ORBIS Ambassador, Sandra Ng, join first-time celebrity supporters, Paul Wong and Pakho Chau in taking special photos for our "Break the Wall" print ad campaign. A special interactive www.thedarkwall.com website* is also encouraging young people of all ages to support the needlessly blind. The site's centerpiece is famous local illustrator Prodip Leung's incredibly elaborate painting of a wall. Rich with the artist's trademark surrealistic stylings, this work vividly dramatizes many of the extraordinary sight-saving memories our volunteers have experienced in developing countries.
