'Viva' mascot charity sale

During the “Parade through Macao, Latin City” hosted by Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau S.A.R. Government (ICM) in December 2012, ICM joined hands with ORBIS to share the love from Macau to the visual impaired children in the developing countries. A mascot “VIVA the Italian puppet” was designed, and the cardboard-made VIVA mascot was sold at MOP20 with all the donations going to ORBIS’ pediatric sight saving work. Donors were welcomed to create their own VIVA mascots at home, or they had an option to donate the mascots they had purchased to students of local primary schools.

More than MOP59,000 was raised and went to support the efforts of ORBIS in the prevention and treatment of blindness in children of developing countries, and students from 5 local schools and organizations were delighted to receive the donated mascots as the materials for their creative art classes. ORBIS sincerely thanks ICM for their creativity and generosity.
