Macau first semi-postal stamps: ORBIS - 30 Years of Saving Sight

With 2012 marking the 30th anniversary of ORBIS’ sight saving mission, it is our very great honor to announce that Tuesday October 9th, 2012 will see the Macau Post Office officially issue the Macau first semi-postal stamps with the theme of “ORBIS – 30 Years of Saving Sight”, aiming to raise public awareness on the global blindness problem, the hardship suffered by the visually impaired and the importance of healthy eye-sight.

This issue includes a set of two semi-postal stamps, which are printed with the postal value and the surcharge respectively. The surcharge of the stamps sold will be offered to ORBIS Macau in support to our action of saving sight.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macau Post Headquarters, the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, the Airport Post Office, and the Communications Museum. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date of October 9th, 2012 at the above locations.

This issue will be available for sale starting from October 9th, 2012 until April 8th, 2013 while stock lasts. If you are a supporter of ORBIS’ work on behalf of the world’s needlessly blind or just a keen philatelist, this is one product you won’t want to miss!
