Action For Sight 2012

Look Cool ž Stay Healthy

The World Health Organization (WHO) designated the second Thursday of every October as World Sight Day (WSD), aiming to raise awareness on blindness and visual impairment. ORBIS Macau has been hosting the “Action for Sight” campaign in support of the annual WSD. According to WHO, approximately 18 million people worldwide are blind as a result of cataracts, of these 5% of all cataract disease burden is directly attributable to UV radiation exposure.

ORBIS is holding this year's Action for Sight 2012 campaign with the theme of “Look Cool ž Stay Healthy”, this year’s Action For Sight 2012 campaign sincerely urges you to protect your eyes by simply avoiding excessive UV radiation exposure in your daily lives.

ORBIS also calls for your further action of support to help saving others' sight. By simply donating MOP100 or over from September to October 31st , 2012, you will receive an ORBIS "Eye Care" pin. Please wear your "Eye Care" pin with pride and showing your compassion for the world's preventable blind in the run up to World Sight Day from October to November!
